چکیده

Microlens array homogenizers are an attractive choice in the field of radiometry and photometry to generate highly uniform beams with high efficiency. In the present paper a microlens array homogenizer used to determine the spectral responsivity of large size, partially filtered photometer is presented. The effect of nonuniformity of the field is shown to be smaller than 0.2% in the whole visible spectrum.

Azimuthally isotropic irradiance of GaN-based light-emitting diodes with GaN microlens arrays.

In this paper, the irradiance-modifying concept is proposed by introducing a microlens array on the p-GaN layer of GaN-based light-emitting diode (LED). Every microlens can locally modulate photons emitting from a micro-scaled active region of multiple quantum wells (MQWs) just beneath the microlens. The azimuthally isotropic irradiance from the GaN-based LED with microlens arrays is demonstrat...

Fabrication of two-dimensional arrays of microlenses and their applications in photolithography

This paper describes several methods for the fabrication of microlenses, and demonstrates a lithographic technique that uses a microlens array to pattern the intensity of light incident on photoresist. Three different methods were used to fabricate microlenses: (i) self-assembly of transparent microspheres, (ii) melting and reflow of photoresist on glass substrates and (iii) self-assembly of li...

Self-assembly of amorphous calcium carbonate microlens arrays

Biological materials are often based on simple constituents and grown by the principle of self-assembly under ambient conditions. In particular, biomineralization approaches exploit efficient pathways of inorganic material synthesis. There is still a large gap between the complexity of natural systems and the practical utilization of bioinspired formation mechanisms. Here we describe a simple s...

Reduction photolithography using microlens arrays: applications in gray scale photolithography.

This paper describes the application of reduction photolithography, using arrays of microlenses and gray scale masks, to generate arrays of micropatterns having multilevel and curved features in photoresist. This technique can fabricate, in a single exposure, three-dimensional microstructures (e.g., nonspherical microlens arrays) over areas of approximately 2 x 2 cm2. The simple optical configu...

Physical modeling of a microlens array setup for use in computer generated IP [5664-75]

One of the most promising techniques for visualizing three-dimensional objects is Integral Photography (IP). Two of the most common methods used in Computer Generated IP involve the development of simplified ray tracing algorithms for elementary 3D objects or the realization of pinhole arrays. We present an alternative technique based on the POV-Ray software package for ray tracing to generate ...
